Scope and controller
This policy explains how HoopVexa processes information when you visit the site, create an account, receive communications, participate in community features, or contact us. HoopVexa is the operator responsible for these activities.
Information we collect
We process information you provide, including usernames, email addresses, profile details, favorite teams, follows, alert preferences, comments, live-chat messages, votes, contact requests and newsletter choices. We also process limited technical records needed for authentication, security, abuse prevention and service reliability.
Audience measurement
HoopVexa uses privacy-safe first-party traffic measurement to count page views, top pages and visitors active during the previous minute. It uses an ephemeral random tab identifier stored in session storage. It does not store full IP addresses, and the identifier expires with the browser tab session.
Google Analytics operates using Consent Mode. When analytics is allowed, Google Analytics may use cookies and similar storage to measure engagement. When analytics is declined, Google tags may send limited cookieless consent and measurement signals. You can change this choice through “Privacy choices.”
Advertising and Google AdSense
HoopVexa expects to use Google AdSense and may use other disclosed advertising partners. Once advertising is enabled, HoopVexa may display advertising regardless of whether personalized advertising is selected. Google and participating vendors may use cookies, local storage, device information and activity from this and other sites to deliver, limit, measure or personalize advertising, subject to your consent choices and applicable law. When personalization is declined, eligible limited, contextual or first-party affiliate placements may still appear. Google’s use of advertising cookies can enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to HoopVexa or other websites.
You can manage Google ad personalization through Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses information from partner sites at Google’s Business Data Responsibility site. Additional vendors will be identified through the consent interface when advertising launches.
Search services
HoopVexa uses Google Search Console and expects to use Bing Webmaster Tools to understand search visibility, indexing and site health. These webmaster services provide aggregated search and crawl information. They do not provide HoopVexa with the private contents of a visitor’s Google or Microsoft account.
Why we process information
- Provide accounts, profiles, follows, alerts, comments and live chat.
- Deliver requested newsletters, verification and security messages.
- Measure site reliability, readership and content performance.
- Prevent fraud, spam, abuse and unauthorized access.
- Operate advertising and comply with legal obligations when ads are enabled.
Sharing and service providers
Information may be shared with providers that host the website, deliver email, process analytics, provide search reporting, secure the service or deliver advertising. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer.
Retention
We retain account information while an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward. Security, moderation and transaction records may be retained longer where needed to prevent abuse, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. First-party traffic sessions are short-lived; aggregate page-view totals may be retained for historical reporting.
Your choices and requests
You may update profile and notification settings, unsubscribe from optional email, change analytics choices, or request access, correction or deletion where applicable. Some records may be retained when required for security or legal reasons.
Children
HoopVexa is intended for a general sports audience and is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account or submit personal information if you are under the minimum age required in your location.
